Every year, the Philatelic Traders’ Society (PTS) prints thousands of postcards to give out FREE to visitors at Stampex in London.
This year, the PTS and Stampex Team have opened a Postcard Design Competition to design the free postcard that will be issued at the show.
These postcards are used by Postcrossers, collected, picked up by young philatelists, used as a bookmark or a quick notelet at the show. The more inspiring the design, the more likely someone is to stick a stamp on one and mail it to someone who will appreciate it. Or frame it.
The competition will be judged anonymously and the winner will not only have their name featured on the back of every postcard printed but they’ll also receive 25 copies of their postcard to send to friends and family!
The judges will be looking for something philatelic or postal in nature to be included in the design but other than that, you can design whatever you fancy! And you can use any tools you like – from digital art tools to real life paint brushes, pencils, or decoupage!
Simon Carson, The PTS Chair comments:
“Stampex is about community and sharing the very best of philately and postal history far and wide. The idea of inviting collectors (and perhaps collectors to-be!) to be part of our free postcard design should make this important Stampex souvenir a bit more fun and thought provoking, and we hope to be inspired by the designs we see. I can’t wait to see what people come up with!”
The competition is now open. Designs must be entered by the 31st August 2025.

The winner will be announced ahead of Stampex which takes place on the 22nd – 25th October at the Business Design Centre, Central London. The show is free to attend on all four days with no need for tickets or pre-registration. For more information, visit stampexinternational.com
