After almost a week here I was feeling quite tired – lots of walking and standing. So a slow start and then on the Royal stand I sold some books to a member and we chatted. We found that we had a school in common in Harlow. He went as a pupil and a few years later I was a teacher there. Then we reminisced about the Headteacher and Deputy Head – strange how stamps and our lives came together.
In the afternoon I left the BDC and went to the Overseas Members’ Display at the Royal in Abchurch Lane. One frame displays on 41 very different topics – it was fantastic. If you ever get the chance to see Alex Haimann’s Anglo-Zulu wars display – take it. There were lots of other great ones too – but that one stood out in my mind. Just two days to go – come and join us.
