London 2022 Newsletter No. 23: 3 November 2021
First Day Tickets
As with many FIP international exhibitions, visitors to the exhibition on the first day will be required to pay an entry fee of £10. Entry on all other days will be free.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.london2022.co/london-2022-first-day-entry-tickets. The website allows you to pay either by PayPal or by credit card. Tickets will be emailed to you and can either be printed or presented at the door on a mobile phone to enter the show. Each ticket will have a unique reference number included which will prevent copied tickets being used.
It will be possible to purchase tickets on the door, but we anticipate that there will be queues.
London 2022 is most grateful to Andrew Lajer for his sponsorship of the First Day Tickets.
Exhibits
As we move ever nearer the opening of London 2022, the list of exhibits being shown is becoming finalised. As you will probably understand in these troubled times of a pandemic, there are inevitably a few late changes.
The list of exhibits has been refreshed on the website www.london2022.co/exhibits. Although a few are missing, the vast majority of the first pages can be viewed from this website.
Patrons and Supporters
A total of 32 generous philatelists have signed up as Patrons donating £500 or more and 15 Supporters have donated £250 each to help make the show a success. In uncertain times this support is extremely welcome but owing to withdrawals during the pandemic it is still necessary to ask for more help, both financially and by volunteering time to assist the smooth running of the show.
Corporate sponsors include Beijing Wanhu Shengdian Culture Development; Cavendish Philatelic Auctions; Delcampe; Gärtner; Global Philatelic Network; Andrew Lajer; Stuart Rossiter Trust; Spear Trust; and Spink. To all of whom the organisers are extremely grateful but there is plenty of room for more.
We have also received support for the sponsorship of the Best in Class awards. Our thanks go to the Royal Philatelic Society London, Great Britain Philatelic Society, FIP, Bill Barrell, Collectors’ Club Chicago, Deegam, Irish Philatelic Society, Stamp Active Network and Revenue Society.
If you want to help the show to become the success it should be, help out now and ensure that it is by joining the distinguished lists of donors on the exhibition website www.london2022.co/supporters. For full details of patronage opportunities and volunteering please email patrons_sponsors@london2022.co.
Volunteers Sought
We are most grateful to those who have already offered to support the show by giving their time. If you could spare even a few hours to help staff the Help Desk, mount / take down the exhibits, sell programmes etc, then we would be delighted to hear from you. There is an expenses package available to help with the costs of travel. If you can help, please contact Mike J. Roberts via the Volunteers tabs on the website www.london2022.co/volunteers. Mike has tasks that need doing to suit everyone’s level of stamina and fitness!
Booths
Booths which were returned after the original deferral of the exhibition continue to be re-sold. If you are at all interested in taking a stand, or indeed if you initially withdrew but now want to attend, have a look at the latest position on the website www.london2022.co/floorplan to see what is currently available. Please contact boothsales@london2022.co for further information if you are interested in taking a trade stand.
