Today seemed to be a fairly quiet day. I was wondering why as I helped out on one stand and wandered along to pick up some of the items that I had seen before and now wanted to buy. Failing to remember my list of intended purchases or items held has meant a lot of return visits to dealers – all being very willing to help out. Then it hit me – today was changeover day. About 12 noon the team of volunteers gathered to remove the material from the frames and replace it with the new material later – mustn’t get the two lots mixed up or someone will be very annoyed. This is a very complicated process and needs lots of help – where were you? Tomorrow we will see the fruits of their labours.
I sat down after lunch as my legs were telling me that they had had enough. About 40 minutes later a friend woke me to offer a cup of tea to revitalise me. It is good to meet up with people that I have previously only seen on Zoom. So thanks to Neil and Sue from the South West, I was able to go back to my search for those last few elusive items.
Memo to self: must remember to quiz the Royal Mail on these bar-coded stamps and to go to see what is going on at Stamp Active, the future of our hobby.
