I thought that everything would be sorted by 10am this morning but I was so wrong. Eunice had held up the arrival of entries for the competitions so there were many still left to be put in the frames or even to arrive. That meant that the volunteers due to deal with entry were re-assigned to frame filling and others were asked to step in at no notice. So we did. It is a great way to meet new faces, to welcome old friends and to score “brownie” points.
Having a snack has the same effect so I met Charles and we talked about our collecting and our clubs, then Deborah went by and we exchanged views and so on. Social philately at its best. Next for me was my first visit to a dealer – to pick up some ordered material. Registered mail is colourful and interesting and looks far better in fact than in descriptions or even scans on a website.
Loads more dealers to visit and I haven’t even started to plan my visits to the frames. That needs a lot of work – there isn’t time to see it all. Plenty of days left – oh no, the frames change on Tuesday.
See you soon – have a word if you know me and even more if you don’t.
