It was a pity that the Islington Borough regulations meant that the framed displays had to be closed down at noon so that the frames could be loaded up into the HGVs to take them back to their home before the weekend. Crazy regulations but I still got to see a few of the displays – including one that really caught my fancy involving penny blacks and Mulreadys. Though shalt not covet they neighbour’s collection – but I do! Well done every one who competed and displayed – you did a great job.
This evening I was at the President’s Dinner for the Royal Philatelic Society of London. Held at the Guildhall in the City it was a fantastic meal at a brilliant venue and with great company. One of many highlights, other than the food and wines, was the Post Horn Gallop – what a performance. Who says that philately can’t be fun and interesting – you just have to enjoy the social life that any society can produce and to take part.
