SUMMARY:Korea Stamp Society - The Unforgotten War
DESCRIPTION:On 11 November 2025\, the Korea Stamp Society will sponsor ‘Korea – The Unforgotten War’\, a one-day celebration dedicated to the history and philately of the Korean peninsula from Liberation in 1945 to the Armistice in 1953. It will take place at the Royal Philatelic Society London in the City of London. \nThis special event coincides with the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War and brings together collectors\, historians\, and postal scholars from around the world. \nThe programme will open with a welcome by Tony Bard FRPSL\, followed by an address by Martin Uden\, former British Ambassador to South Korea and the current President of the British Korean War Veterans’ Association. \nThe impressive line-up of presentations will commence with Dr Owen Miller of the School of Oriental and African Studies\, who will examine the nature of the Korean War itself\, while Dr James Goulty will provide an overview of the British Armed Forces’ role between 1950 and 1953. After lunch\, Dr James Grayson will talk on the first stamp issues of both North and South Korea after 1945. The day will conclude with Tony Bard FRPSL presenting ‘Aspects of Korean War Postal History\,’ linking the human experience of the conflict with the tangible traces left in letters and covers. \nAlongside the lectures\, visitors will enjoy an extensive range (50 frames\, or 800 album sheets) of philatelic displays highlighting major aspects of Korean postal history during this turbulent period. These exhibits\, generously contributed by many of the leading specialists in post-1945 Korean philately worldwide\, will provide a rare opportunity to view material seldom seen in public. \nAttendance is free and is open to all interested collectors and researchers. DESCRIPTION:Residents could unknowingly have valuable items hidden in their homes\, according to a Shropshire group.\nShropshire Philatelic Society is calling on people to search out long-forgotten stamp albums ahead of their annual Stamp Fair on Saturday 4th October.\nFree valuations will be on offer throughout the event\, which runs from 10am to 4pm at Halls Auction Centre in Battlefield\, Shrewsbury.\nThe society’s President Nick Webb explains: “Even if they’re not collectors themselves\, we know people across Shropshire will potentially have been gifted albums – perhaps from parents or grandparents – that may have been left in their loft or at the back of a cupboard for years or maybe decades.\n“They may not realise the true value of the album and\, whether or not they would consider parting with it\, our Stamp Fair is the perfect time to find out just how prized their forgotten possession might be.\n“Our events also naturally attract collectors who will no doubt be looking forward to meeting the 12 dealers we have confirmed as attending\, alongside Halls valuation specialist\, Andy Neal.”\nAttendees will be able to browse affordable stamps from around the world with themes including trains\, wildlife\, royalty and space.\n“If you or perhaps your children are seeking a new hobby\, then the Stamp Fair is the perfect chance to see why so many people around the world enjoy stamp collecting\,” Nick added.\n“For curious kids\, it’s a fantastic screen-free way to explore history\, geography and culture\, not to mention an activity which could see them end up with an extremely valuable collection in the future!”\nFounded in 1947 and meeting in Shrewsbury\, Shropshire Philatelic Society is open to anyone with an interest in stamps\, postcards\, postal history and postal stationery. DESCRIPTION:Another opportunity to meet a group of National and local dealers\, in person\, in East Anglia. Typically plenty to excite the experienced collector. Some stallholders will rarely travel outside the region. Do not miss an opportunity to meet them.\nAdditionally\, our popular Society ‘private treaty’ sale table will have a selection of collectors items\, direct from NNPS Society members.\nMany dealers will also be keen to buy material\, matching the interests of their customers.\nA raffle will be run – offering philatelic specialities as prizes.\nLight refreshments will be on sale in the Hall\, provided by NNPS volunteers.\nParking is allowed on site. Parking and admission are free.\nAn event organised by collectors for collectors. Join us in the ‘Fine City’ of Norwich. Why not make a stay over the weekend?

DESCRIPTION:The Strand Stamp Fair is held every other month and in 2025 we are MOVING TO A NEW VENUE in Hammersmith\, London – the Novotel London West. The fair is attended by 15+ stamp\, postal history and postcard dealers. Close to public transport and with an underground car park on site\, it is easy to get to. Entrance to the fair is free. Opening hours are from 9am to 3pm but we recommend you come early\, as some of the dealers attending travel long distances to get here and so leave before closing time. If you have a collection that you would like valued\, please bring it along. We look forward to seeing you!

SUMMARY:York Stamp Stamp & Coin Fair
DESCRIPTION:The York Stamp & Coin Fair has been running since the 1980s and continues to attract leading stamp\, postal history\, coin\, banknote and medal dealers. There are specialist society meetings to which everyone is welcome\, where guest speakers discuss their particular interests and collections. Visitors are invited to come and browse\, shop or bring their own collections for a professional valuation. Admission to the fair is free and there is free car parking available. There is a bar and self-service restaurant on-site.
